From the Atlantic shores of Cape Town to the wildlife-rich bushveld of the Greater Kruger and the thundering waters of Victoria Falls, this 11-day journey brings together three of Southern Africa’s most compelling experiences.
Explore Cape Town’s dramatic coastline and cultural heritage, settle into the rhythms of the bush with days spent tracking wildlife across private wilderness, then finish beside the Zambezi River beneath the spray of Victoria Falls. It is a journey of extraordinary contrasts - sophisticated, wild and wonderfully unhurried.
overview
The journey begins in Cape Town - consistently voted the best city in the world - where dramatic granite peaks rise from the Atlantic Ocean. Four unhurried days offer time to experience the best of the Mother City, from its dramatic coastline to its creative neighborhoods and celebrated dining scene. Take in sweeping views from Table Mountain, follow the spectacular curves of Chapman’s Peak Drive towards the Cape of Good Hope, and meet the African penguins at Boulders Beach. Back in the city, leave time to explore the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, browse local galleries or settle in for a long dinner overlooking the harbor.
day 1-4 | accommodation
Positioned directly on the water’s edge in the heart of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town combines maritime heritage with views stretching across the active harbor to Table Mountain.
The hotel features ocean-facing and iconic Table Mountain view guest rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, a full-service wellness spa, and refined dining venues celebrating fresh South African ingredients. Its central position offers immediate, walkability to Cape Town's finest boutique shops, art galleries, and waterfront restaurants.
day 5-6
Leave the coast behind and fly into the Greater Kruger, where unfenced wilderness allows wildlife to move freely across a vast interconnected ecosystem. Days follow the rhythm of the bush, with early-morning and late-afternoon game drives offering opportunities to encounter elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and a variety of plains game. Guided walks bring a different perspective, revealing the smaller details of the wilderness, tracks in the sand, birdsong in the riverine forest and the signs left behind by animals moving through the landscape. As darkness falls, venture out again in search of the nocturnal world before returning to camp for dinner beneath the stars.
day 5-8 | accommodation
Tucked into a pristine private conservancy within the Greater Kruger ecosystem alongside the Timbavati River, Sandringham N'Weti Camp offers an authentic and exclusive tented safari setting.
Each luxury suite features a private viewing deck overlooking the lowveld bush, en-suite bathroom facilities, and stylish indoor-outdoor living spaces. Camp facilities include a swimming pool for midday relaxation, open-air boma dining areas, and personalized safari activities designed around the natural movement of resident wildlife.
day 9-10
Cross into Zimbabwe for the final chapter of the journey, where the Zambezi River plunges into the Batoka Gorge at Victoria Falls. Known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya - “The Smoke That Thunders” - the falls are one of Southern Africa’s great natural spectacles. Follow the rainforest paths along the edge of the gorge, where mist rises from the falls and rainbows appear above the Zambezi. Later, slow the pace with a sunset cruise along the river, watching hippos surface, elephants gather at the water and birdlife settle into the evening.
It is a fitting finale: wild, elemental and unforgettable.
day 9-10 | accommodation
Situated inside Zambezi National Park along the banks of the upper Zambezi River, Victoria Falls River Lodge is a luxury tented camp built within sight of the spray rising from Victoria Falls.
